Development of one of the largest southern playa wetlands on the Llano Estacado into a ecological preserve.  This 100 acre urban playa site features floodplain thickets, prairie grasslands, an urban feral forest, and wetlands.  The preserve is surrounded by heavy industry on 3 sides and Interstate 20 on the 4th, and serves as an outdoor classroom and laboratory for public schools as well as universities and private researchers.  Now an ecotourism destination, the project was developed in part with TPWD funding.  The site has several thousand feet of elevated ipe boardwalk as well as a raptor observation platform and numerous bird viewing stations.  Project was in conjunction with RWA Architects.
